When is the best time to sell on Vinted?
Vinted does not name a proven best time of day or best month. Instead, the Help Centre points to levers you control yourself: anyone who regularly uploads new items gains followers, who are notified about new listings and price drops.[1] Responding to favourites lets you send interested buyers an offer, and a discount on multiple items can trigger additional purchases.
On seasonality, Vinted offers one pricing hint: keep seasonal trends in mind, and a discount can help sell items outside their season.[2] A winter coat, accordingly, is more likely to sell in spring with a price reduction. That is an inference from this recommendation, not a measurement by Vinted.
If you are planning a sale, prepare the items first: size details are accurate if you convert clothing sizes between EU, UK and US, and wool jumpers look better cared for if you remove pilling beforehand.
Can you hand in used clothing at C&A?
Yes, in Germany C&A accepts sorted-out clothing and shoes through its "We Take It Back" programme, but it does not pay for them. Instead, you receive a 10% voucher.[3] In store, you get one for every standard-size shopping bag of sorted-out clothing, with a maximum of two vouchers per person and day, not combinable with other promotions. Online, the voucher applies to every well-packed parcel and can be credited against the most expensive item in an order of at least two items.
The items should be clean, dry and still wearable, with shoes bundled in pairs. Up to 30 kg is possible with the shipping label.[3] So if you want to make money from items, this programme is the wrong address; for items with no market value, it is an alternative to the bin. We collect further options for worn-out textiles in our section on old clothing.
How much does it cost to sell on Vinted?
Vinted charges sellers no selling fee: "There is no selling fee on Vinted", the Help Centre states.[4] The platform is funded by the Vinted fee, which the buyer pays at checkout when ordering via the "Buy" button. According to the price list, it usually consists of 5% of the item or parcel price plus €0.70.[5] The amount depends on the item's characteristics, the order value and the type of order.[5]
Optionally, sellers can book Push or Showcase for a fee; the price is only shown at checkout.
What sells well on Vinted at the moment?
Vinted does not publish a current bestseller list, and its help pages do not name in-demand categories. More reliable than trend lists is a look at comparable items in the catalogue. Vinted recommends browsing similar products there. According to Vinted, a price below the catalogue average can speed up the sale.[2]
As a price range, Vinted suggests a share of the original retail price, depending on condition:
| Condition | Recommended price |
|---|---|
| New / Like new | 60–80 % |
| Very good | 40–60 % |
| Good / Satisfactory | 20–40 % |
Vinted also recommends, among other things, high-quality photos, a detailed description and a verified profile with a message in the “About me” section.[1]
What is better than Vinted?
What is better than Vinted is whatever fits your goal: less effort, a higher return, or a platform without a buyer fee. Three alternatives differ mainly in who does the work and who pays.
| Vinted | Kleinanzeigen | Sellpy | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who sells | You yourself | You yourself | Sellpy, after you send in a bag |
| Fee for the seller | no selling fee | none named in the reviewed help pages; extensions and highlighting cost extra | listing fee per item, plus Sellpy's share |
| Fee for the buyer | usually 5 % + €0.70 | €0.50 + 4.5 % with Secure payment | included in the price |
| Protection | refund policy when paying via “Buy” | buyer protection with Secure payment | Sellpy handles the sale and buyer questions |
With Sellpy, Sellpy does the photographing, describing and pricing itself. The buyer fee charged by the other two platforms comes on top of the item price. For a €70 item, that is usually €4.20 on Vinted and €3.65 on Kleinanzeigen with Secure payment (worked example by Adtouro based on the rates named above, excluding shipping).
Which is better, Vinted or Sellpy?
Vinted is worth it if you want to handle the sale yourself; Sellpy, if you want as little effort as possible and accept a lower return in exchange. With Sellpy, you order a bag, fill it and send it back; the shipping label costs €0.[6] Sellpy sorts, prices, photographs and sells the items for you.[7][7]
The price is paid by the seller, as a share plus a fee. According to Sellpy's pricing page, you receive 40 % of the portion of the sale price up to €50 and 70 % of the portion above that, minus a listing fee per item.[6] The help page puts that at €1.20; from 2 November 2026 the listing fee for Sellpy bags rises to €1.30. For a €70 item, your share comes to €34 (40 % of €50 plus 70 % of €20) before the listing fee.[8] On Vinted, the full €70 item price stays with the seller, minus the time spent on photos, description and shipping. Your Sellpy share can only be paid out once the listing fees are covered.[8]

Where does selling work better, Vinted or Kleinanzeigen?
Where clothing sells faster cannot be verified without figures from the platforms; you can decide based on fees, protection and the process. On Vinted, the sale works like this: you upload the item, the buyer pays via the “Buy” button, and you ship using the shipping label.[4]
On Kleinanzeigen, a listing requires at least a title, price and description.[9] It usually stays online for 60 days.[10] Paid extras such as Highlight or Top-Anzeige cost extra as well.[11] If the buyer pays via "Secure payment", they cover the item price, shipping costs and a service fee of €0.50 + 4.5% of the purchase price.[12] After payment, you have 48 hours to confirm availability.[13]
When it comes to protection, the terms differ in the details:
| Vinted | Kleinanzeigen | |
|---|---|---|
| Requirement | Payment via the "Buy" button | Payment via "Secure payment" |
| Cases | never shipped or lost, damaged, significantly different from the description | not shipped, substantially different, counterfeit, wrong or incomplete item |
| Deadline for the buyer | 2 calendar days after notice of delivery | 14 days after shipping for confirmation |
| Scope | regular members, not Pro sellers | shipping within Germany |
Anyone who arranges payment outside the system is left without protection: Vinted states this explicitly.[14]
If you have the choice, you can answer the question like this: those who want to hand over the sale entirely should choose Sellpy and accept the smaller share. If you want to sell without a selling fee and with standardised shipping via a shipping label, Vinted is the better fit. Those who prefer listings with their own text and price and accept the "Secure payment" process can use Kleinanzeigen. Check the respective fee page before listing, because rates can change. You can find more on secondhand in our Secondhand section.
